Students are expected to notify Dr. Beinlich of any upcoming absences at least two weeks in advance. <\/span><\/p>\n

In the case of illness, students (or parents) should notify Dr. Beinlich by 10:00am the day of the lesson. <\/span><\/p>\n

Repeated day-of cancellations may lead to removal from the schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n

My teaching philosophy is simple: I believe everyone can sing! My teaching is rooted in student-centered work that starts with the student’s specific needs, wants, and goals. Through science-based teaching, students will learn how their voice functions, how to address various technical challenges including, but not limited to, breath support and\/or management, intonation, aural skills, tone improvement, range expansion, and classical and musical theatre techniques.<\/p>\n

Lessons are offered for students from child to adult, complete novice through professional. Based on the student’s skill level, needs, and goals, we will discuss the best lesson package.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lessons are private, one-on-one meetings. Parents of minors are welcome to have a discussion if there is a desire to observe their child’s lesson, but many times students feel more comfortable working without observation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lessons for Children<\/h3>\n

Lessons for children under 11 are on a case-by-case basis, with behavior and maturity being the primary factor in whether or not they are ready for private lessons. Lessons with children will focus on music reading, learning age-appropriate songs, and basic, sustainable vocal technique. I will not work on vocal technique that is too advanced, unsustainable, or unhealthy for the child.<\/p>\n

Lessons for Adolescents<\/h3>\n

Lessons for children 12-18 are focused on developing healthy technique as the voice and body change, working on age and developmentally appropriate repertoire, stage presence and language diction, music theory, and audition prep (as needed). I will not work on vocal technique that is too advanced, unsustainable, or unhealthy for the individual, nor will I assign developmentally inappropriate repertoire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lessons for Adults<\/h3>\n

Lessons for adults 18 and over are geared toward the individual’s specific wants and needs. We will spend time working on unhealthy vocal habits, improving overall vocal technique, improving music reading (as needed), and working on repertoire the student is interested in.<\/p>\n
